Accident kills 2 bikers in Lohagara

Two bikers have died after their motorcycle was hit by a pickup van in Lohagara of Chattogram. 

The accident occurred at the Chunti Jangalia area on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway at around 11:30pm on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Rakib, 21, and Jihad, 19, both from the Maijpara area of Eidgah upazila of Cox's Bazar. 

According to eyewitnesses, the motorcycle was headed towards Chattogram. A pickup van hit the vehicle from behind and flung the two bikers onto the road. Locals rescued them and brought them to the Sound Health Hospital of the upazila, where duty doctor Shahidul Islam declared them dead. 

According to the doctor, they died before reaching the hospital. The bodies are kept at the morgue. 

Confirming the matter, Aziznagar Police Camp in-charge SI Md Morshed Alam said the driver and helper of the pickup van were detained.
