Bus-van collision in Natore kills 2

A passenger bus collided head-on with a van in Natore, killing two people at the Khejurtola area of Natore city late on Saturday. 

The two deceased were identified as van driver Aktar Mridha, 48, and passenger Md Mojammel, 40. 

According to locals, Aktar Mridha dropped off his daughter-in-law at her workplace, Khejurtola Jute Mill, at around 11pm, and was on his way back with a passenger when the accident happened. They were rescued and rushed to a hospital, but the duty doctor declared them both dead. 

Jhalmalia Highway Police Station Officer in Charge Mahabubur Rahman said the Natore-bound Jannat Paribahan bus from Bogura hit the van and killed the two people on the spot. Police later seized the bus from the Rajapur area of Boraigram. However, the driver and his assistant fled.
