Fire erupts in Narayanganj cotton warehouse

A fire broke out in a cotton warehouse in Amirabad Bazar under Bandar Upazila of Narayanganj around noon on Wednesday. 

Two units from the Port Fire Service responded promptly and brought the fire under control within an hour. No casualties were reported.

Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense Deputy Assistant Director Abdullah Al-Arefin noted that the fire spread rapidly due to the cotton stored in the warehouse, creating a thick cloud of smoke in the surrounding area.

 The fire was extinguished within an hour, and no injuries occurred, he said, adding that the authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
