Swechasebak Dal leader, SI killed in Jashore accident

A road accident near the Bhangura Bazar on the Jashore-Norail Highway has killed three people, including a central leader of the Swechasebak Dal and a Sub-Inspector of Police, late on Sunday. 

The three deceased were identified as Swechasebak Dal Central Committee's former joint general secretary Abu Jafar, 40, Norail Lohagara Police Station's Lahuria Investigation Centre's Sub Inspector Nikkon Adhya, 35, and Jashore Sadar's resident Aktar Hossain, 48. They were all passengers of the bus which got into the accident. 

Norail Tularampur Highway Police SI Robiul Alam said that a bamboo-laden truck was parked next to the highway at the Bhangura Bazar area. A Jashore-bound "Norail Express" bus from Dhaka hit the truck from behind at around 11pm on Sunday. Passenger 

Aktar Hossain died on the spot. Abu Jafar and Nikkon Adhya were rescued and brought to the Jashore 250-bed General Hospital in critical condition. Abu Jafar died before reaching the hospital, Dr Jubayer Ahmed said.

Nikkon was being rushed to Dhaka when his condition worsened. He was brought instead to Norail Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Tularampur Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Sekendar Ali said the bodies of Abu Jafar and Aktar Hossain are kept at the Jashore General Hospital morgue. Nikkon Adhya's body is kept at Norail morgue. Their bodies will be handed over to their families after autopsy.
