University student dies in accident on way to Sajek

A Khulna University student was killed when the local transport carrying passengers fell into a ravine on her way to the Sajek tourist center in Baghaichhari of Rangamati. 

11 others were injured in the incident.

The accident occurred around 12 noon on Wednesday in the Housepara area of Sajek. 

The deceased, Rubina Afsana Rinki, was a student of the Physics Department of Khulna University while all the injured were students of the same department. 

Talking to the injured teachers and students, it was learned that the students of the 21st batch of the Physics Department of Khulna University set off on a sessional tour on the afternoon of September 14. 

The group consisted of 38 students, four teachers including the head of the department, and two supporting staff. On Wednesday, their motorcycle fell into a ravine on the way to Sajek. Rinki was killed, and others were injured. They were rescued and taken to a local hospital. 

Khulna University Director of Student Affairs Professor Dr. Md. Nazmul Sadat said that the university administration is in constant contact with the Khagrachari civil administration and police administration. 

Another team of university teachers, including him, has left for Khagrachari.
