23 sacks of document recovered from ex-minister's wife's driver's house

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has recovered 23 sacks of documents in a drive at Elias Talukder's house. Elias was the driver of former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury's wife, Rukmila Zaman. 

Led by ACC Deputy Director Md Moshiur Rahman, the drive was conducted from 3:30am to 5am on Sunday at Elias' house in Shikolbaha Union of Karnaphuli Upazila in Chattogram. 

Md Moshiur Rahman said 23 sacks of documents were found. Among them are documents relating to the former minister's properties, including the Aramit Group. These documents were brought to Elias Talukder's house on September 16th, he said. 

There are several cases against Saifuzzaman Chowdhury and Rukmila Zaman. Among them, there are four ACC cases. 

No one could be apprehended from the scene, as Elias remains in hiding. 

Former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury left the country in secret shortly after the Awami League government was ousted on August 5 last year.
