Teenager tortured over theft allegations in Dumki, Patuakhali

In Dumki, Patuakhali, a teenager named Ramzan Mallick was brutally beaten, tied up, and hung upside down on Saturday evening in Charboyera village over allegations of theft at a grocery store. 

A 2-minute, 31-second video of the incident went viral on social media Monday evening. 

Ramzan, son of Bashir Mallick from Rajakhali village, was later handed over to the police.

Locals reported that Ramzan was apprehended at the store and tortured by shopkeeper Jalil Sikder, his two wives, and Arif and Faisal Sikder. 

Eyewitnesses Emon, Mahfuzur Rahman, and Kamal Sikder saw Ramzan tied to a grill and beaten with rods and sticks. 

Police rescued him after being informed by locals and took him to Dumki Police Station.

Jalil Sikder denied the torture, claiming Ramzan was caught stealing money.
