Udayan Express derailment in Sylhet halts rail links with rest of Bangladesh

The 'Udayan Express' train, travelling from Chittagong to Sylhet, derailed at Moglabazar station in Fenchuganj upazila, Sylhet, around 7:30 am on Tuesday.

The locomotive and several bogies went off the tracks, leading to a suspension of rail communication between Sylhet and the rest of Bangladesh.

Sylhet Railway Station Manager Nurul Islam confirmed the derailment to reporters, noting that a rescue train has been dispatched to the site.
