BNP leader Ershad Ullah airlifted to Dhaka for advanced treatment

Chattogram Metropolitan BNP convener and BNP-nominated candidate for Chattogram-8 constituency Ershad Ullah was airlifted to Dhaka for advanced medical care on Friday afternoon.

He was transferred from Chattogram Evercare Hospital to Square Hospital in Dhaka via air ambulance, arriving at 3:20 pm.

Chattogram Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Nazimur Rahman stated, “Ershad Ullah has been moved to Dhaka to ensure swift recovery through advanced treatment. The decision was made in consultation with his family. He is now out of danger.”

Ershad Ullah’s private secretary, Md. Arif Munna, told Daily Samakal, “On the doctors’ recommendation, he was shifted from Chattogram Evercare Hospital to Square Hospital in Dhaka. The air ambulance was arranged privately.”

Meanwhile, Ershad Ullah’s supporter, Erfanullah Haque Shanto, who was also shot during the incident, remains in critical condition at Chattogram Evercare Hospital. Arif Munna confirmed that Ershad Ullah is fully covering Shanto’s treatment costs.

The attack occurred on Wednesday evening during Ershad Ullah’s public meeting in Chattogram’s Hamzarbagh area. He sustained gunshot wounds to his right chest and leg. Another individual, Sarwar Hossain Babla, was killed in the assault.
