Fire at cotton warehouse in Tongi under control after 2 hours

A fire which broke out at a cotton warehouse in Tongi of Gazipur was brought under control after two hours. 

The fire broke out at around 11:30am inside the Munnu Mill at the Mill Gate area of Tongi. Seven units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) worked to bring the fire under control at around 1:30pm. At least seven cotton warehouses were razed to the ground. 

As per eyewitnesses, the fire started at Abdul Mannan Miah's cotton warehouse. It quickly spread to Babul Miah, Abdus Sattar Chowdhury, Shohidul Islam, Shahin, Sattar Chowdhury, and Johirul Islam's cotton warehouses. 

Tongi FSCD Senior Official Shahin Alam told the Daily Samakal that no casualties were reported in this incident. The extent of damage and the cause of the fire can be found out after an investigation.
