Minibus burnt in Narayanganj

A minibus parked next to the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway at Siddhirganj of Narayanganj was burnt early on Saturday. 

The incident happened in front of the Executive Engineer of the Roads Department at the Shimrail area at around 6am. 

Siddhriganj Police Station Officer in Charge (OC) Shahinoor Alam said the driver left the Naf Paribahan minibus parked next to the highway at around 10pm on Friday. Locals spotted smoke around dawn and informed the police and fire service. 

On information, members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. However, the fire had already damaged the bus heavily. 

It could not be determined if the bus was torched or if it caught fire from a technical problem, the OC said.
