Miscreants shot at close range, hacked to ensure death

Sunday is the first workday of the week, and the Khulna District and Sessions Judge Court premises were crowded. In broad daylight in such a crowded place, two men were shot at close range. After they were shot, miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons. Confirming their death, the miscreants left the premises unscathed. 

The deceased were identified as Hasib Howlader, 40, and Fazle Rabbi Rajon, 35.

According to police and local people, Hasib and Rajon appeared before the Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Court for a hearing in an arms case. As they were exiting the main gate after the hearing, six to seven miscreants arrived. One of them slashed at Rajon's neck with a sharp weapon, while another shot Hasib in the head. After they collapsed, the others hacked at them with sharp weapons. The scared crowd gave them a wide berth. Afterwards, the miscreants fled the scene. 

As per the police and lawyers, the miscreants were already waiting to assault Rajon and Hasib near the court. 

Hasib died on the spot, while Rajon succumbed to his injuries on the way to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).
