BSF pushes 14 individuals into Bangladesh through Chuadanga border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed 14 Indian citizens into Bangladesh through the Darshana Nimtola border area in Chuadanga on Thursday night. The matter came into light on Friday night as the pushed-in individuals gathered at Darshana bus stand. 

All 14 of them are part of the same family. Among them are six men, 6 women, and two children. 

The pushed-in individuals said they are Muslims and residents of the Indian state of Odisha. Indian police detained them and claimed they were Bangladeshi, and put them in jail. Their Aadhar and ration cards were seized. After staying in a jail in Odisha for more than a month, they were brought to Kolkata and pushed in through the border on Wednesday night. 

After they were found at the Darshana bus stand, members of BGB and Police brought them to the Damurhuda Upazila Health Complex. After first aid, they were returned to Darshana. 

Confirming the matter, Damurhuda Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Ubaidur Rahman Sahel said the 14 people are now under BGB's custody. They will be sent back after contacting the relevant authority.
