3 killed in Feni road crash

Three people were killed and five others seriously injured in a tragic collision involving a bus, an ambulance, and a motorcycle on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Feni's Rampur area early Sunday morning. 

The accident occurred around 4:00 am on a lane undergoing maintenance in the Chittagong-bound direction.

According to Feni Mohipal Highway Police In-charge Asadul Islam, an ambulance was moving slowly through the area when a Shyamoli Paribahan bus struck it from behind. 

The resulting argument between the drivers caused a traffic buildup, trapping a motorcycle and several other vehicles. 

Shortly afterward, a speeding Doel Paribahan bus crashed into the jam, leading to the fatal multi-vehicle pileup. 

The victims included a motorcycle rider, a bus supervisor, and a passenger.

Fire Service and Civil Defence Senior Station Officer Md. Shahadat Hossain reported that teams quickly arrived at the scene, extricated the vehicles, rescued the injured, and rushed them to Feni 250-bed General Hospital. 

The bodies of the deceased remain in the hospital morgue, with police still working to identify them and the injured.
