Tourist influx swamps Rangamati, Sajek during Eid holidays

Rangamati and Sajek have become crowded with tourists during the long Eid holidays to enjoy the immense beauty of mountains, lakes and clouds. 

Travel enthusiasts from different parts of the country have rushed to spend some relaxing time in the proximity of nature with their families and friends.

One of the attractions of Rangamati is the boat trip on Kaptai Lake, hanging bridge, Palwell Park, Shishu Park, Aranyak, Rangadwip and Bargi Lake Valley, and various tourist spots including the loud presence of tourists. 

The hanging bridge between the two hills was a sight to behold. 

Some enjoyed the beauty of nature, while others were busy capturing memories with their cameras.

There was also increased interest among tourists in Kaptai Lake. Visitors enjoyed the vast waters of the lake and the beauty of the surrounding green mountains in engine-driven boats. Many tourists said that the natural beauty of Rangamati always fascinates them. They are satisfied to spend the Eid holiday in a safe and peaceful environment.

According to the information of the Rangamati Tourism Holiday Complex, thousands of tourists have visited various tourist spots including the hanging bridge during the few days of the Eid holiday. 

Tourism related people say that the arrival of tourists on the occasion of the Eid holiday has had a positive impact on the local tourism sector and business.

Alok Bikash Chakma, manager of the Tourism Holiday Complex, said that 3,000 tourists visited the hanging bridge on the fourth day of Eid. He also mentioned that 3,500 tourists visited on the fourth day of Eid. 

However, tourists may decrease from Monday. Besides, the motel has about 60 percent bookings until June 1.

On the other hand, Sajek, known as the 'kingdom of clouds', was also crowded. The arrival of tourists to see the beautiful views of the morning sunrise, afternoon sunset and the clouds-covered hills was significant. The highest crowd was seen there on the third and fourth days of Eid.

According to the Sajek Resort and Cottage Owners Association, most of the rooms in the resorts and cottages were booked in advance during the Eid holidays. As a result, there was a festive atmosphere throughout the tourist centre.

Indra Chakma, Finance Secretary of the Sajek Resort and Cottage Owners Association and owner of Hillview Resort, said that on the fourth day of Eid, more than 2,500 tourists visited the Sajek Tourist Centre. However, on the third day of Eid, more than 3,500 tourists visited this tourist centre.
