PM vows to stop money laundering

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said on Wednesday that the government will not allow anyone to launder public money abroad. 

He warned of taking strict action against those who try.

Speaking at a family card distribution event in Srimangal, the Prime Minister said, "People's money will be used for the people." 

During the event, he announced that all women tea workers will receive family cards within the next year. 

He stated that the country can only move forward if men and women work together, and that women need to be self-reliant to succeed.

The Prime Minister also announced several welfare promises. He shared that 150 children of tea workers have already received scholarships. Additionally, the government plans to distribute 4 million farmer cards within the next year and expand the local hospital from 50 beds to 100 beds in the next five years.

Defending the national budget, the Prime Minister criticised those calling it "anti-people." He said that those who oppose a people-friendly budget cannot be true friends of the public. He urged citizens to stay united against those who try to mislead them.

Reaffirming his party's stance, he said the BNP wins whenever people are allowed to vote freely. He urged the public to stay together to protect democracy.

"If 40 crore hands of 20 crore people work together, we can build the Bangladesh of our dreams," the Prime Minister added.
