BGB blocks attempt to push nine people into Bangladesh at Sapahar border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) tried to push nine people, including women and children, into Bangladesh at the Sapahar border in Naogaon. However, they were not allowed to enter Bangladesh due to the immediate action of the BGB. The incident took place at 4:10am on Wednesday in the border area of Adatola BOP under Naogaon Battalion (16 BGB).

According to BGB sources, members of the Ellenpur camp of India's 29th BSF Battalion tried to push nine people towards Bangladesh through border pillar 244/MP. The victims of the push-in included three men, three women and three children.

On receiving the information, a patrol team of Adatola BOP quickly reached the spot and found the people inside the zero line of the border. Later, they were prevented from entering Bangladesh.

Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Islam Masum, commander of Naogaon-16 BGB, said, "The BGB members took necessary measures immediately after learning about the incident. Currently, the people concerned are staying inside the zero line of the border. The matter is being closely monitored."

According to the sources, the BGB is on alert in this incident. Communication is ongoing at the diplomatic and border guard levels regarding the allegations of push-in at the border.
