Two killed, 20 injured in bus-private car collision in Gopalganj

Two passengers were killed and at least 20 passengers in a head-on collision between a bus and a private car in Kashiani, Gopalganj. 

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained.

The accident occurred around 12:30pm on Wednesday near the Shibgati Stand area on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Kashiani upazila.

Md Helaluddin, officer-in-charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station, confirmed the incident.

Police and locals said a Dhaka-bound Dola Paribahan bus collided head-on with a Gopalganj-bound private car. The private car was mangled in the impact while the bus lost control and plunged into a roadside ditch. Two passengers of the private car died on the spot and at least 20 passengers from both vehicles sustained injuries. 

The injured have been sent to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex, Gopalganj 250-Bed General Hospital and Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
