Hindu priest, wife found dead in Ctg

Police recovered the dead bodies of a Hindu priest and his wife from their residence in Satkania upazila of Chittagong. 

The bodies of Swapan Dey, 60, and his wife Chinu Rani, 47, were found dead in Puranhgar area under the upazila on Tuesday morning.

Rafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkania Police Station, said the priest settled in the area 10 years back and set up a temple. He became the priest of the temple and latter took loan from several people, he said.

It is primarily assumed that the priest and his wife killed themselves by taking poison as they were not able to repay the loan, added the OC.
