UPDF activist shot dead in Khagrachari

Miscreants gunned down an activist of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) in Khagrachari on Saturday morning. 

The incident took place in Harinathpar area under Sadar upazila of the district around 8:30am. 

The deceased was identified as Dilip Kumar Chakma alias Binoy, 42, son of Shantos Kumar Chakma of Panchari Manipur area of the upazila.  

Witnesses said a group of nine armed miscreants appeared and shot Binoy when he and some others were sitting in front of a tea stall in the area. Binoy died on the spot.

Confirming the matter, officer-in-charge of Khagrachhari Sadar Police Station Tarek Mohammad Abdul Hannan said police started for the spot and next steps will be taken after recovering the body.
