Five sentenced to death in Natore

A Natore court has sentenced five people to death and two others to life term imprisonment for killing a man in Singra upazila.  

Natore Additional Sessions Judge Md Saifur Rahman Siddique announced the verdict on Sunday. 

The condemned convicts are Hafizur Rahman, Bulu, Khalilur Rahman, Majibur Rahman Majid and Monir Hossain while the lifers are Abdul Hakim and Nazrul Islam.

According to the prosecution, the convicted people picked up lessee Abdul Kader Dudu from his house on February 3 in 2004 over the previous enmity. Later, they gunned him down and stabbed to death at a local market.

The victim’s wife filed a murder case with Singra Police Station on the following day.
