Yaba worth Tk 10.20 crore recovered in Cox's Bazar

Members of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) reecovered 3 lakh and 40 thousand pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar.  

The Yaba tablets worth Tk 10 crore and 20 lakh were reecovered from Nazirpara area of Sadar union under the upazila early Sunday, said a press release of the BGB.      

However, the BGB could not detain anyone in this connection.   

A team of BGB conducted a drive in the area early today as they have the information that a big consignment of Yaba tablets was being entered through Teknaf boarder, commander Lt Col Asaduzzaman Chowdhury of Teknaf-2 BGB said in the press release.    

Sensing the presence of BGB team, the poachers fled the scene leaving a sack. Later, 3 lakh and 40 thousand pieces of Yaba tablets were found into the sack, he added.
