RAB raids 'militant hideout' in Jhenaidah, youth held

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a young man after conducting a drive at a suspected militant hideout in Jhenaidah Sardar upazila on Wednesday morning.
The arrestee was identified as Akhtar Mondal, 24, son of the house owner Sarafat Mondal.
Akhtar has been involved in the activities of the new fraction of Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh, Neo JMB, RAB claimed.
A team of the elite force conducted the drive around 8:00am. Earlier, the RAB cordoned off Sarafat's house at Kaluhati village around 4:00am.
The elite force also seized several jihadi books and a dummy pistol after the drive, said Hasan Emon Al Raji, CEO of RAB-6 in Jhenaidah.
