BCL activist stabbed dead in Gazipur

An activist of Bangladseh Chhatra League (BCL) was stabbed to death by rivals in Boran Munshi Para road area in Gazipur's Tongi on Friday night over a cricket match.

The deceased was identified as Prince Mahmud Nahid, 26, son of Jahirul Islam, a resident of Datta Para area.

Shuvo Mandal, sub-inspector of Tongi East Thana, said that some rival men attacked Nahid around 8:30pm and stabbed him indiscriminately following enmity over a cricket match, leaving him critically injured.

Later, the injured died on the way to Dhaka's Kurmitola General Hospital.

On information, police recovered the body.
