3 cattle traders killed as truck overturns in Cumilla

A cattle-laden truck overturned  in Cumilla's Chauddagram upazila early Wednesday, killing three cattle traders and six cows.

Police identified the men as Khokon Mia, 40, Samiul Islam, 45, and Anwar Hossain, 42. They were residents of Jhenaidah’s Maheshpur upazila.

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway at Chiura of Chauddagram upazila around 6:00am.

Abul Kalam, in-charge of Miabazar Highway Police camp, said the three cattle traders were killed on the spot.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Cumilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
