Youth stabbed dead ‘by muggers’ in Gazipur

A Youth was stabbed dead allegedly by  muggers at Tongi College Gate in Gazipur early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Md. Kamrul Islam, 35, son of late Abul Kashem in Natore.

Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Tongi Purbo Police Station, said on information police recovered the body of Kamrul from the spot and sent it to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Muggers might have attacked Kamrul when he got off a bus in front of College Gate area around 4:00am and snatched his mobile phone set, a laptop, and other belongings after stabbing him to death, said police quoting his coworkers.

Locals said mugging take place regularly in College Gate and Hossain Market areas.
