Abrar family happy with charge sheet, demands capital punishment

Abrar's parents said they want to see the maximum punishment for the killers after the completion of the trial of the case in a shortest possible time through the through the speedy trial court.

They made the comments while talking to them at their Kushtia residence on Wednesday.

The police, on Wednesday, submitted charge sheet accusing 25 students of BUET in the killing case of Abrar Fahad.

They said that they are happy over the submission of the charge sheet by the police.

They also urged the BUET authorities to take care of each and every student of the campus.

The family requested the home ministry to start the trial of the case in the speedy tribunal.

Abrar, 21, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of BUET, was beaten to death reportedly by BCL leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university. 

He was found dead on the staircase of the dormitory in the early hours of October 7.

Earlier, he was taken to room-2011 around 8:00 pm on October 6.

Victim’s father Barkatullah filed a case with Chawkbazar Police Station in the capital against 19 people over the brutal murder.
