Woman with 1.5 lakh Yaba pills held

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a woman, Julekha Begum, 20, in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.

Julekha, daughter of Mohammad Abul Kashem, was arrested on Sunday night in the area of Leda Lama, east of Hinla Union in the upazila. 

Lieutenant Mirza Shahid Mahtab, commander of RAB-15, Teknaf CPC-3 Company, said acting on a tip-off a group of RAB members, conducted a raid in the area and detained Julekha.

According to information provided by the arrestee, a sack was recovered from the house after searching.

The RAB official said that a total of 149,700 pieces of Yaba pills worth around 7.49 crore were found inside the bag. 

Later, the woman was handed over to the Teknaf Model Police Station with a drug case.
