Indefinite transport strike enters second day in Khulna

An indefinite transport strike has been underway in Khulna since Monday morning to protest the implementation of new road transport law.

On Tuesday, no bus has left from Sonadanga inter-district bus terminal for Dhaka, putting passengers into untold sufferings.

President of Khulna Motor Workers Union Nurul Islam Baby said, "It is not possible to drive a bus taking the tension of the fines and penalties imposed under the new road transport law."

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Md Helal Hossain has been holding a meeting with the transport owners and workers at the Khulna Circuit House to resolve the problem.
