Mourning ceremony in memory of Sudhanshu Nath Mondal held

A mourning ceremony commemorating Sudhanshu Nath Mondal, father of Gautam B. Mondal, The Daily Samakal Online News Editor, was held in Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha. 

The program was organised by the Suprakash Sahitya Sangsad in the Hall room of Sundarganj Mohila Degree College on Friday evening with Abdus Samad Miah, poet, litterateur and former headmaster, in the chair.

The speakers who discussed various aspects of life and work of Sudhanshu Nath Mondal include Women Degree College Vice-Principal Nasrin Sultana, Sudhanshu Nath Mondal's son and The Daily Samakal Online News Editor Gautam B Mondal, Dahaband UP Chairman Golam Kabir Mukul, Freedom Fighter Sirajul Islam, Sundarganj Press Club General Secretary  A Mannan Akand, former headmaster Ansar Ali Sardar, Moslim Ali, Biren Sarkar Mintu, Communist Party Upazila president Nurul Alam Manik, Krisak leader Sadequl Islam Dulal, Lecturer Abdul Aziz, Suprakash Sahitya Sangsad President Biswajit Chandra Barman. 

Poet Konkan Sarkar, general secretary of the Suprakash Sahitya Sangsad, moderated the commemorating ceremony.

Sudhanshu Nath Mondal died on the night of 21st November due to old age complications at his home in Nizam Khan village of Tarapur union of Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha. 

He was a former headmaster of Ghagoa High School in Sundarganj upazila in the district. 

Sudhanshu Nath Mondal used to practise literature regularly. He retired from his teaching profession in 2002.
