Mother, son amng 3 electrocuted in Barguna

Three family members, including a woman and her son, have died of electrocution in Patharghata upazula of Barguna.

Patharghata Police Station OC Md Shahabuddin said the incident took place at Khashtabak village of Kakchira Union at 8:30am on Monday, said

The bodies have been identified as Delwar Hossain Khan, 65, his brother's wife Hamida Begum, 42, and her son Russell, 18.

Delwar was chopping down a betel nut tree in his house premises.

At one stage, the tree fell on an electric cable and he was immediately electrocuted.

Hamida and Russell made attempt to save him and were also killed by electric shock.
