ASI among 2 killed in Mymensingh road crash

Two people, including an assistant sub-inspector of police, were killed in a road crash in Chelerghat area of Trishal upazila.

The accident took place on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway after a Dhaka-bound private car fell into a pond early Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as ASI Aminul Islam, 32 and his brother-in-law Jahidul Islam, 22.

A Dhaka-bound private car from Mymensingh overturned and fell into the pond in the early hours of the day, leaving the duo dead on the spot, said Momin Sarwar, in-charge of Trishal Fire Service.

On information, members of Trishal Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, he added.
