UPDF leader shot dead in Rangamati

A member of the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) was shot dead by some unidentified miscreants at Egoijjachara in Naniarchar upazila of Rangamati on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Shubho Chakma alias Greek, 40, assistant director of the Rangamati UPDF unit.

Locals said Shubho Chakma was staying at a house in the Egoijjachara area. A group of miscreants appeared there and opened fire aiming the house in the morning, leaving him dead on the spot.

Kabir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Naniarchar Police Station, said a man was shot dead in Naniarchar upazila and police are on way to recover the body.
