3 killed as bus ploughs thru pedestrians

Three people, including a mother and her son, were killed as a bus ploughed on the road in Amtali upazila of Barguna.

The incident took place at around 11:30 am on Saturday nearby Amtali AK Government Secondary School.

The deceased were identified as Nupur Begum, 30, wife of Abul Hossain, her son Nisad, 10, and her niece Lamia, daughter of Jasim Mollah of the same village, said Amtali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Bashar.

Nupur's 6-year-old daughter Mamtaz and two others were injured in the incident. 

They were taken to the hospital.
