Madaripur district council chairman Miaz Uddin Khan dies

Madaripur district council chairman and valiant freedom fighter Miaj Uddin Khan passed away at a city hospital early today at the age of 73.

“Miaj Uddin Khan died of pneumonia at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka,” his son and PM’s Deputy Press Secretary K M Shakhawat Moon told BSS.

He will be buried at his family graveyard in Sahebrampur Union under Kalkini Upazila of Madaripur district with due state honour after Asr prayers.

Miaz Uddin Khan is survived by wife, two sons, a daughter as well as a host of relatives and admirers.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock and sorrow at his death.
