3 drug dealers killed in 'gunfight' in Chakaria

Three alleged drug dealers were killed in a 'gunfight' with police at Chakaria in Cox's Bazar while handing over a large consignment of yaba.

The 'gunfight' took place in the hilly area of Baniyarchhara on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway around 3:30 pm on Thursday, said Chakaria police inspector (investigation) Md Mizanur Rahman.

A total of 44,000 pieces of yaba, two home-made firearms, seven rounds of ammunition and 15 rounds of used ammunition were recovered from the spot. 

Four policemen, including the OC of the police station, were shot and injured at the time of gunfight.
