Liaquat giving confessional statement on Sinha murder

Liaqat Ali, suspended inspector and the prime accused in Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan murder case, has been giving his confessional statement before the Cox's Bazar court on Sunday.

Liaqat was produced before the court of Judge Tamanna Farah of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-4 at noon to record his statement.

Earlier, three members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) - Assistant Sub-inspector Md Shahjahan and Constables Razib and Md Abdullah - gave confessional statements before the same court.

Suspended Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar Das and two other police officers were placed on a three-day remand each for third phase in the case on Friday.

Major (retd) Sinha was shot dead by police in Teknaf on the night of July 31. 

On August 5, Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, Sinha's elder sister, filed a murder case in the Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court accusing nine policemen.
