Another accused Tareq arrested in MC College rape case

Another accused in the case filed over gang-rape of a housewife at the MC College dormitory in Sylhet.

Tarequl Islam alias Tareq Ahmed, arrested from Dirai upazila of Sunamganj on Tuesday evening, is the second accused in the case.

ASP Obain Rakhine, a media officer of Ratab-9, confirmed the arrest of Tareq to The Daily Samakal.

According to the RAB, nine people, including Tareq, have been arrested so far in connection with the rape case. 

A group of youths tied up a man and raped his 19-year-old wife at the MC College dormitory on September 25.

Victim’s husband filed a case at Shahporan Police Station the following day against nine people mentioning the names of six people.
