Fire at shoe factory in Kaliakair

A fire has broken out at the factory in Baripara area of the upazila on Saturday afternoon. 

Upon receiving the news, six units of the fire service reached the spot and tried to control the fire, said Kaliakair Fire Service Station Officer Kabirul Islam.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately known.

Locals said the fire broke out at a shoe factory, FB Footwear Limited. Chemicals made in shoes kept in one-storey buildings can catch fire.
