Explosions-clashes-shots in Companiganj, 50 injured

The incidents of clashes, chases, explosions and shootings have taken place during a protest rally at Basurhat Rupali Chattar in Noakhali's Companiganj.

More than 50 Awami League leaders and activists, including six policemen, were injured in the incident on Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses said a protest meeting was organized in the afternoon under the banner of Upazila Awami League to protest the attack on Khizir Hayat Khan, president of Upazila Awami League.

Noakhali District A-League Organizing Secretary Mizanur Rahman Badal addressed the meeting as the chief guest. There was a sudden attack during his speech. Protests broke out during the attack. Then the people of Badal group counter-attacked the opponent.
