Two sisters found hanging at home in Sylhet

The hanging bodies of two sisters have been recovered from the rooftop of a two-storey house in Majumdari area of Sylhet city.

The deceased were identified as Rani Begum, 33, and Fatema Begum, 27, daughter of Kalimullah of Majumdari's House No. 31.

On Tuesday morning, the relatives saw them hanging with rope and informed the police.

Police recovered the bodies of the two sisters and sent them to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Senior police officials inspected the scene.

Sylhet Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khan Mohammad Mainul Zakir told Daily Samakal, “Initially, it is believed that two sisters have committed suicide. Once the autopsy report is received, it can be confirmed.”
