'One of the masterminds and accomplices' of the attack in Pirganj arrested

One of the masterminds and accomplices of the attack and setting fire to a Jalay Palli in Rangpur's Pirganj has been arrested, RAB said.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of the RAB's law and media, confirmed the information and said that Saikat Mandal and his accomplice Rabiul Islam had been arrested from Tongi in Gazipur.

He further said that the details will be announced at a press conference at RAB Media Center at Karwar Bazar in the capital.

It may be mentioned that houses were set on fire in Majhipara, Battala and Hatibandha Jaly Palli of Ramnathpur union of Pirganj upazila around 10pm on Sunday following a Facebook post.

Earlier, four more people were arrested in the incident and sent to court on Friday.
