Bodies of parents, daughter found in Khulna pond

Police have recovered the bodies of parents and their daughter from a pond in front of Bagali Union Parishad in Bamia village of Koyra upazila of Khulna around 9am on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as mason Habibullah Gazi, 35, his wife Beauty Begum, 30, and their 6th grade daughter Tuni, 12. Habibullah is the son of Majed Ghazi of that village. 

Koira Police Station OC (Investigation) Shahadat Hossain said that in the morning, the locals saw the body floating in the pond in front of the Union Parishad and informed the police station. Police later went to the spot and recovered three bodies.

The bodies of the victims show signs of sharp weapon injuries, he said, adding the bodies will be sent to the morgue of Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

However, he could not immediately trace the reasons behind the killings.
