Ferry overturns in Padma with 17 trucks

The Amanat Shah ferry overturned at Paturia Ferry Ghat No. 5 in Manikganj around 10:15 am on Wednesday.

DGM Zillur Rahman of BIWTC's Aricha Ghat office confirmed the incident to The Daily Samakal.

However, he could not confirm whether there were any casualties.

Zillur Rahman said there were 17 trucks and covered vans and 14 motorcycles in the ferry at the time of overturning.

The BIWTC official said some 15-16 people have been rescued so far.
