Firearms factory busted in Ukhiya, 3 Rohingya held

RAB-15 has found a weapons factory in the deep hills near to the Ukhia Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar.

Three arms-makers from an arms factory were arrested in a raid on Poliapara hill in Kutupalong area on Monday morning.

The detainees are- Baitullah, Habibullah and Md. Hasan.

Acknowledging the matter, RAB-15 Cox's Bazar Battalion Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nityananda Das said the operation was carried out after finding a weapons factory in the deep hills adjacent to the Rohingya camp. 

“The three Rohingya arms dealers have been arrested in the operation. They admitted that they had been making weapons and supplying them to the robbers in the camp,” he added.

He said that according to their confession, 10 weapons, ammunition and a large quantity of weapons making equipment were recovered from the spot.

A case is being prepared to lodge in this connection.
