Two killed in truck-auto-rickshaw collision in Jamalpur

Two people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Jamalpur on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Mintu Mia, 28, son of Shahjahan Ali of Chonatia area of Jamalpur Sadar, and Abul Kalam Azad, 45, son of Usman Gani of Munsinangla village in Melandah upazila.

Jamalpur Sadar Police Station SI Azizul Haque said a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw bound to Ghatail from Jamalpur collided head-on with a truck from Tangail to Jamalpur in the morning, leaving two people dead on the spot.

He said the injured were admitted to the 250-bed Jamalpur General Hospital.
