3 killed in truck-auto-rickshaw collision in Trishal

Three people were killed and four others injured when a truck collided head-on with a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw at Rampur on the Trishal-Balipara road in Mymensingh around 9am on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Abdus Sattar, 40, son of Abdul Hekim of Rampur village and Mohammad Kalimuddin, 70, of Babupur village of Sakhua union and Sohrab Ali of Chakrampur village in Rampur union.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Trishal Police Station Main Uddin said the CNG-powered auto-rickshaw was going to Balipara with passengers from Trishal Upazila Sadar. The auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a sand truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving auto-rickshaw driver Abdus Sattar and its passenger Kalimuddin dead on the spot.

Sohrab Ali succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, he added.
