Two Bangladeshis killed in BSF firing at Kaliganj border

Two Bangladeshis were killed in a BSF firing at Sebakdash border in Goral union of Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat.

The incident took place near Sub-Pillar No. 5 of Main Pillar No. 917 on the west side of Lohakuchi Border in Goral Union of the upazila on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Idris Ali, 40, son of Moslem Uddin of Malgara Goral village under Goral union of the upazila and Asaduzzaman Bhasani, 45, son of Altaf Hossain of the same village.

It is learned that Idris Ali and Asaduzzaman Bhasani entered India late on Friday night with the help of Indian cattle traders. In the morning, on their way back with the cows, the patrol team of the BSF camp in Gunjiri fired at them. They died in the area adjacent to the barbed border. Their bodies are lying on the Indian side.

Officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station Sajjad Hossain said he was listening to the matter. BGB official statement was not available. However, Goral Union UP chairman Mahmudul Islam informed him about the matter.
