Three killed in Cumilla road accident

Three people, including a couple, were killed and another was injured in a road accident at Kanchi Bihra Bridge area on the Cumilla-Noakhali highway under Manoharganj upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased were identified as Ruhul Amin, 65, his wife Selina Akhter, 45, and college student Simuna Akhter, 20, residents of Saikchlie village of the upazila.

The accident occurred in the area when a Dhaka-bound bus of 'Ekushey Paribahan' hit a battery-run auto rickshaw at around 10.30 am, leaving three auto rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and injured its driver, said Zafar Iqbal, in-charge of Natherpetua police outpost.

The injured was taken to a local hospital.
