Tk 66 lakh found in the pond!

Police recovered Tk 66 lakh from an abandoned pond in Khordsaptana area of Jailkhana Road in Lalmonirhat town at 10pm on Wednesday.

According to the locals, a person went fishing and saw some money. He then informed the police. Police immediately came to the spot and recovered 66 bundles of one thousand taka notes from the water. Each bundle contained 100 notes. On the back of the money was written 'Sathi Sangha', 'Lucky Coupon', 'Bhagya Paribartan'.

Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station OC Shah Alam said, “Initially it was thought that all the money notes were counterfeit. Our rescue efforts continue. Details will be known after checking those notes.”
